Ada Aimee de la Cruz (23) won the Miss Dominican Republic pageant held in Santo Domingo on Sunday, May 16th. she will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2009 pageant in the Bahamas next August.
The 1st runner-up was Miss Monte Plata, Ana Rita Contreras, and the 2nd runner-up was Miss Distrito Nacional, Rocio Castellanos. The contestants from San Cristobal, Santiago and Duarte completed the Top 6 finalists.
Ada de la Cruz is no stranger to the pageant scene. She competed in the Miss Dominican Rep. Universe pageant in 2007, where she reached a Top 10 spot. Afterwards she competed and won the Miss Mundo Dominicana contest, which gave her the right to represent her country at the Miss World 2007 pageant in Sanya, China.
