the 9th edition of miss earth beauty pageant will be held in october, 2009 in a venue yet to be announced. the winner will serve as the spokesperson for the miss earth foundation, united nations environment programme and other environmental organizations. 90 contestants are expected to compete in the event. karla henry of the philppines will crown her successor in this years pageant.
