miss thailand universe 2009

this year, the 10th miss thailand universe pageant will be held on march 28, 2009. The contestants arrived in samui island, surat thani and the finals was held at sofitel centara grand bangkok in bangkok. all 44 delegates are expected to compete. the winner will be the representative for miss thailand at the miss universe 2009 pageant.

the reigning miss thailand universe is gavintra photijak, who was crowned on may 24, 2008 in bangkok by farung yuthithum, miss thailand universe 2007.

chutima chantelle durongdej, 24 years old from bangkok, is the new miss thailand universe. chutima is a british educated beauty who is taking business management in the city university, london. she was chosen in a field of 44 stunning women and will now represent thailand at miss universe 2009 to be in bahamaas on august 23.

nineteen year-old rujinand pansritum on the other hand finished as first runner-up and will represent thailand at miss earth 2009. completing the court are runner-ups ratakorn sathirabhut, kedmolee rojanapradit,and chonthicha subpaiboonlerd.
