21 year old Nelsa Suraia Pombal Alves of Luanda bested 20 lovely ladies from the different part of this french speaking African country last December 20, 2008 held at Cine Atlantico. She won a brand new car, US$300 and some jewelry. She will represent Angola in the miss universe Pageant in the Bahamas this August 23, 2009.1st runner up is Jesinalda Silva who will compete in the miss world 2009 in South Africa this December and the 2nd runner up is Ilma Leonalo candidate for Miss Tourism Queen International this May.
