At age 11, Tenille Austin entered the St. Joseph’s Convent, Kingstown. Here, she continued to develop her talents by joining the choir, the school’s steel orchestra and the Girl Guides group, which allowed her to travel to England and then onward to Sweden for one month on her second international camp. In February 1999, she decided to enter the school’s yearly pageant, Miss SJCK, in which she was adjudged the winner. Subsequently, she was a participant in the Literary and Arts competition in dancing, singing and choral speech. At Form 4, she joined the Junior Achievement program where she received the award for the top sales person of the year. She left St. Joseph’s convent with 10 CXC passes and moved on to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
