Miss Italia 2009

The most traditional Italian pageant, Miss Italia, was concluded last Monday (September 14) in Salsomaggione, with the victory of Maria Perrusi, from Cosenza, Calabria. She was crowned by Italian swimmer and beauty contest jury president Federica Pellegrini. 

Although it's the most celebrated beauty title in Italy, the winner does not compete internationally.

New Miss Italia Crown

To mark the 70th anniversary of the pageant, the new Miss Italia 2009 will wear a new crown! The crown contains 3,080 diamonds set in 18-carat white gold.

Alice Taticchi

The new Miss World Italy 2009 is 19-year-old Alice Taticchi of Perugia, Umbria.

Alice will now get ready to participate in Miss World 2009, in South Africa.

Laura Valenti, edged out 23 other beauties from across Italy and won the Miss Universe Italy 2009 pageant.

Ayu Diandrasari

Ayu Diandrasari will represent Indonesia in the Miss International 2009 Pageant in China.
